Re: Series III Intermittent perplexing problem.

Took my Jag out for a short drive (approx 7 miles) and upon stopping,
shutting off the engine, noticed steam from under the bonnet near the
passenger compartment? Upon checking I noticed what appeared to be water
on the transmission causing the steam. Car sat for about an hour and I
drove it home and problem did not re-occur then and has not happened
since?? Car has been driven at least 15 times since the initial
problem.. I wiped the area dry and it is still dry today. Also checked
the anti-freeze and it was down a bit but nothing to be concerned about.
I filled it to capacity. I have tried to make this problem happen again
but to no avail. I have run the air-conditioner, heat, nothing, and it
seems to be ok. The area where this occurred is very difficult to see or
notice a problem. My questions are:

1. Has anyone had this problem?

2. Is it something to be overly concerned about?

I am not an expert mechanic but do have some basic knowledge but not on
JAGS. This is my first one. Owned it since July 1996 but only driven in
good weather.

Feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Also can anyone recommend a good certified JAG technician in Northeastern
Pennsylvania. Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area. I bought the car from a
dealer and have already had a bad experience with the dealership. Do not
plan to return.

3. I am concerned about overheating on a long trip.

Thanks to all in advance,
