The Jag-lovers Authorised Guide to Obtaining a Production Record Trace Certificate
With willing help from Jaguar Cars Ltd, here's the Jag-lovers guide on how to obtain an official JDHT Production Record Trace Certificate (or as it is usually known,
the 'Heritage Certificate') for your cherished Jaguar or Daimler.
Note that the vehicle has to be over 10 years old to qualify.
Please follow these
instructions carefully rather than using any older (and possibly inaccurate) versions you may have come across on other sites! Note that there are two
different forms - one is for North America only.
Please note that Jag-lovers provides this information purely to assist you.
We cannot answer additional questions on certificates or be responsible for any problems with obtaining a certificate, non-delivery etc.

Jaguar's historic production record data are on an ongoing basis being transferred to the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust (the JDHT) which, as part of their
agreement with Jaguar Cars has the exclusive right to supply historic information on Jaguar and Daimler vehicles which are more than TEN years old. The
JDHT do not supply data on more recent vehicles.
The JDHT is a registered charity. By contributing to the work of the JDHT, you will help to preserve the heritage of Jaguar Cars, the company and its products.
There is therefore a charge of £30.00 (world wide, including for club members. Postage (and VAT where applicable in the EEC) are included in this
fee for the supply of vehicle information, on the basis of pre-paid enquiries only. Receipts for payments will be issued on request.
The JDHT draw your attention to the following important points:
Complete information is available on most Jaguar and SS cars, and some Swallow-bodied cars, but only on Daimlers from ca. 1960 onwards.
(There is limited information on some earlier Daimlers ca. 1945-1960.)
We only confirm the accuracy of numbers supplied by enquirers. If numbers are not available, we regret that they can not be supplied or confirmed by
ourselves. We do not accept any responsibility if incorrect numbers are quoted by enquirers and this leads to incorrect information being supplied by us
Please supply proof of ownership with your enquiry. This may be a photocopy of the registration document or log book, title document or other reasonable proof of ownership
We always reserve the right not to disclose information or complete details of a vehicle. A refund of any payment will be made if we decide not to issue documentation
Worldwide (except North America)
Owners across the world can obtain a certificate by using the Production Record Trace Application form (link below). Please complete this and return to the JDHT at Coventry.
You can print it out and post or fax it to them, or you can e-mail it back as an attachment. However, please don't send credit card details by open e-mail!).
Please allow 28 days for the return of the certificate. Please note that the JDHT do not send certificates out by e-mail. See below for applications direct to Jaguar USA.
[Updated June 2004]
Owners in North America can alternatively obtain a certificate direct from Mike Cook, Jaguar Cars, Archives, 555 MacArthur Boulevard, Mahwah, NJ 07430-2327 [Fax: 201 818 8464]

Mike offers the following advice to applicants from Jag-lovers:
Our fee is $40 to the general public and $25 to members of Jaguar clubs affiliated with Jaguar Clubs North America (JCNA).
There is no price increase for the immediate future for either category.
The fee may be paid by personal check in US $ on a US bank, or money order in US $. As the North American Archives is part of the Public Affairs Dept. of Jaguar Cars,
and not a separate commercial entity, we are not able to accept credit cards in payment
We encourage clients to download and use our form for North America.
The form incorporates all instructions for obtaining research, and if read before applying, can save time, mistakes and disappointment.
We are readily accessible by telephone (201-818-8144 24 hrs.) or by fax (201-
818-8464 24 hrs). Please contact us for other types of research, if needed
We are open two days each week, generally Tuesdays and Thursdays. We can be contacted by e-mail at mcook69@jaguar.com
We do recommend that for ease of communication and payment, owners in the US
and Canada avail themselves of the services of the North American Archives. Clients can rest assured that the North American Archives and the JDHT utilize
the exact same build record information provided by Jaguar Cars Ltd
