XJ-S GM400 accidental shifting & where is TT

I am a little confused on what the shifting problem is with the GM400 and
the XJ-S. on my 88 US spec, I can not accidentally shift from 2 or drive
into reverse without moving the shift lever to the left. I can move the
shift lever from 2 - D all I want, but must move the lever to the left
to get into either 1 or up into N, R or P. Maybe I have the "J-GATE" as
mentioned here: ( Just glad I do not have the problem, still might like to
change it
over to a 6 speed someday. Well I can dream... )

On a different subject: ( post was about a possible 420G purchase )

If Sheldon's reference to TT is the same as the internet country code,
then it is Trinidad & Tobago.
