I've recently subscribed to the list and it has already paid off; for a
long time I've experienced the symptoms of faulty fuel regulators but never
could figure out what was going on. Now I know and it will be fixed.

I have an 83 XJ6 that I drive over 100 miles daily. The current odometer
reading is about 179K miles and it still runs great. I'm in the process of
fixing minor problems and doing a rolling restoration. The current
agrovating minor problems include hood popping, fuel regulators and poor
radio reception. Over the next year I hope to replace the leather, replace
the carpet, buy a new set of wheels, repair the heater core, go back to the
larger diameter outboard headlights, revaneer the dash and take care of the
minor problems. I've rebuilt both the front and rear ends and gotten a new
paint job. I hope to get another 75K-80K miles before doing any major
engine work.

In doing the restoration I'm not trying to stick to origional specs. The
replacement wheels won't be origional and I doubt if they will even be Jag
wheels. I want to redo the dash with some exotic wood and perhaps replace
gauges with ones that are back lit rather than use those that rely on
reflected light.

I would also like to replace the rear seat with a seat from a Jag that had
rear head rests. Does any one know if the rear seats are interchangable
from year to year. Will an 86 XJ6 rear seat fit my 83? Also, does any one
have any ideas regarding the installation of built in cup holders or the
best installation for a cellular phone.

Any one out there in the Northern Virginia/Washington, DC area wanting to
talk Jags please contact me.
