[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] [xj-s] 1994 V12 Engine Reliability(?)
I have been considering the 94 XJ12 with the 6.0L V12 as in the XJS, but I keep getting warnings about the engine. I thought that the 94+ engine was the most reliable, due to many component changes. The best seemed to be the improved gasket/seal materials, but I have seen at least one message saying "it ain't so". Was the change made later than 94 model year (VIN#)? I can afford the car - as it has a depressed price due to buyer wariness - but can't afford $5K repairs, especially repeatedly! Even a warranty goes only so far. What's the deal? Can I find a reliable one - how do I tell? Is the extra 80HP worth the risk?
