Hi everyone, Fortunately? I had someone "helping" me this weekend. This eager person removed the tags I had denoting A bank Camshaft from the B bank so they wouldn't get "wet" while she washed them in kerosene.... Don't ask. The only identifying number I see on both shafts is LYD 3 and LYD 1. I'm sure if I have to, I could figure out which is which by the relative position of the pistons when 1a is at TDC, but if someone knows for sure it would be appreciated. Now as to the crankshaft. I replaced the cone and woodruff keys, and main bolt last summer after the key had sheared and the pulley fell. Upon installing them today I noted that there is some slop in the positioning of the pulley. I can move the pulley slightly back and forth while everything is installed. I don't remember this being the case when I first installed the set. I examined the cone's slot and found no noticeable wear, but the woodruff key seems worn slightly on the sides. almost as if it were wearing......starting to shear? What could be causing this to happen so soon (1 year)? This can't be normal, could it? Do they make harder grades of keys? I got this set from the dealer so I assume it's OEM Any thoughts or info would be appreciated. Dave Follow-Ups:
