my trip computer seems to be triping out. sometimes it reads 1 mile per gallon. other times it seems to be ok, on start up it goes into hyroglyphics, is this a sign of a dying unit? 2. engine ground connections. found a black box on firewall behind washer unit, it about 2"x 6" long. on one end is 2 black wires, on the other end is a tan covered cable thats not connected to anything, is this part of the cruse control, I have no cruse unit, dont want one.the box seems to have a heat shrunk cover on it, no attempte to open it. still cnnot find unit that david littlefield mailed to me. nothing on fender but 3 relays. my charging guage operates fine but clean connections r always good. cleaned the battery ground cable end cleaned bolt, cable and the threads going into body. got new leather seat covers from G.W. Bartlett, $400 for back and seat, also having new head liner put in, falling down. michael 85 xj-s.
