[xj-s] 90 wiring or Marelli meltdown

Ok, I've been reading the archives, and I'm not so sure the 90 I'm looking
at to purchase had a wiring meltdown, but possibly the distributor cap and
rotor meltdown. All the melted wiring is in a tight circle around the
distributor, and the cap and rotor were melted off. He said it was a wiring
meltdown, but after reading all the posts on Marelli problems, I don't know
if it was the chicken or the egg. Anyone had a meltdown of the cap & rotor?
