[xj-s] Advice on purchase-round two - 90 rouge

Hello again all,
Thanks to Peter Cohen, Craig Sawyers, and Chad Bolles for response on my
first question ( the cars are both 12's, Craig). The reason I asked about
the compression readings is that the 90 Rouge is a 'fixer upper'. I need to
check the compression because the car can't be driven. It had a small wiring
harness meltdown right above the distributor. If I purchase the car, I'll
need to take a big risk because I can't run it. I figured to minimize the
risk by hot wiring the starter, and checking compression. I wouldn't even
consider it, but the car is in pristine condition otherwise, and the asking
price is only $7500. The 85 I looked at runs well, but has some rust, and
the air conditioning won't work. The upside on the 90 is that for the risk,
and about $500 to replace the wiring harness and some injector hoses, I
could end up with a nearly perfect 50,000 mile Jaguar. I have done the
wiring harness on 2 other cars, so that part shouldn't be too bad with a
good manual.
Any thoughts on this? Thanks again,
Keen Young
