Having had a great deal of frustration before with the commecially avail paint care products, we decided to take our 89 Signal Red into the local Jag body shop. Beside fixing professionally a minor dent caused by a shopping mall rat in a parking lot, we agreed to Jag buffing up the whole car for a small additional charge. We thought the car was ready for a re-paint : discoloration of the front end damage by the PO, scratch marks from automatic car wash, then some warranty refinishing of the rocker panels by Jag made the car look rather patchy. The body shop foreman at Jag assured us that " there was enough clear coat left on the whole car to do at least one more buffing after this ". The end result exceeded our expectations (for once). They used an electric buffer, some kind of abrasive compound and Jag wax. Now I have to find out how can we keep this up and what happens when the clear coat starts to thin out. Lee Opausky
