When I had mine apart years ago, I couldn't get the damn liners to
move! Had to make a puller to get them out!

The sealant doesn't stretch.

Lemme suggest another idea, without any real idea of whether or not
it would actually work: With the other 11 liners firmly retained,
turn the crank and ENCOURAGE that liner to come up with the piston,
making sure the piston doesn't go back down WITHOUT the liner (once
the rings clear the bottom of the liner, I think you'd be in trouble
indeed). With the piston at the TOP of its stroke but at the BOTTOM
of the liner, the liner should be raised by the 70mm stroke with no
problem. Simply clean off the old sealant under the lip on the
outside of the liner, apply new sealant, and push the thing back
down. Might even repeat for the other 11, since this one seemed to
move too easily. Leaks around the liners mean the coolant leaks into
the crankcase, not good.

Anxious to hear discussion on this idea, and suspect that Johnson
would be well advised to listen to feedback before actually trying
it.
