Hi everyone, I think I'm in serious trouble. I was cleaning the carbon off of the tops of my cylinders. I had fashioned liner retainers to hold the liners in place. I removed them on one side to clean off the carbon. I reinstalled them WITHOUT having turned the crank. Or so I thought. When I went to reinstall I discovered that one liner sat ~ 3/32 (maybe less) higher than it did before. Apparently I was resting my hand on another piston and I guess I must have pushed it down without noticing it was moving. STUPID STUPID STUPID. Okay now I've chastised myself. Anyway I pushed the liner down with the retainer and banged my head against the wall of my garage. I stopped by my local Jaguar dealer and spoke to their service manager and he told me that if it only came up that slightly I probably just stretched the sealant and he wouldn't worry about it. He told me he himself had done that numerous times without any problem. As long as it didn't go out any farther than I described he would leave it alone. Any comments, suggestions. And yes I know I was careless, And I thought I was being soooo careful! Thanks in advance Dave Follow-Ups:
