I suggest you pull it off and replace it with the insulating blanket sold by J. C. Whitney (and others, I'm sure). It gets glued to the hood with 3M 8090 spray adhesive (an entire can!) and then the edge taped with aluminum tape. Since it's only 3/8" thick, it doesn't need recesses and cuts in it like that original 1" thick stuff. And since it has a foil surface, the aluminum tape matches and the whole thing looks MUCH better when done. -- Kirbert | If anything is to be accomplished, | some rules must be broken. | - Palm's Postulate References:
