[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] self introduction
Hello Jag-lovers. I would like to introduce myself since I just joined this email list. My name is Lue, I was born and raised in Singapore, went to university and graduate school in the United States and I now work in Japan as a quantitative analyst designing trading strategies for a securities company. My background is aircraft/spacecraft propulsion unit design. It's a long story how I got involved with two different fields but I like them both! I've been following the introduction of the XK8 pretty closely and I am thinking of getting one for myself. I read the book by Phillip Porter "Jaguar XK8 - The authorized autobiography" which talks about the design process of the XK8. It was an eye opening experience as the book covers a lot of details about how Jaguar, under the new management of Ford, proposed and design the new car to replace the XJS. I enjoyed the book tremendously and I got a much better picture how Jaguar designed the XK8. I was very impressed with the kind of details they got themselves involved to make a better product. I just wanted to find out if anyone in this group have owned and driven the XK8 since its introduction. Does the XK8 has any problems which I should be aware of. From Phillip Porters book, I know that Jaguar has solved a lot of problems previous Jaguars were known for. I wonder if there are anything that I may have missed. Thank you. Lue Tokyo
