Please note that if the ferrule is more than about 1/8 out you have either a ferrule that has moved, very uncommon, or major problems. Every time I see a trans come back from a cheap rebuild shop they have not fixed the original problem and have tried to compensate by over adjusting the shift pressure. They generally last about 3 to 6 months slamming into gear. Usually a pump and governor are also required in these cases. The problem is that the shop can't provide their "cheap" rebuild with all these hard parts added in. >Next set the cable so the crimped on ferrel is about one mm from the >end of the threaded housing.
