Ovr Fearless Leader laments... {Finally, with the aid of extra hands and some choice swearing {it is bolted up and ready to try. Connect up the battery and {stop to think... Perhaps I should just leave it for a few days {beforing trying it. Wait for a nice day when I'm on top of the {world and wouldn't mind too much? { {No, put in the key and turn it. *click* Whats this? *click* Starters pull an immense amount of current and you need good electrical connections to get the sufficient amount from the battery to the starter (for both the positive and negative paths). A click from the starter is good. It means you're almost there. Total silence means that there's a bunch more stuff to debug. Run a heavy jumper cable from the neg battery post to the engine block. If it starts now, then the neg path from your battery to the starter has a bad connection somewhere. If that fails, try jump starting from another car. Anything else will just be a rehash of the starter FAQ on the website so look there for further help. /\ Lawrence Buja http://www.cgd.ucar.edu/cms/southern \_][ southern@ncar.ucar.edu National Center for Atmospheric Research \_________________________Boulder,_Colorado___80307-3000__________ Follow-Ups:
