Hmmmm.  Might be too thick, keeping it from working its way down into the 
ring grooves, which I'd definitely want it to do.  Also, it's gotta burn off 
pretty readily once the car is started again, and I have no idea what chain 
saw oil would do there.

One time when I had an engine apart, I coated just about everything I could 
with STP -- not just the bearings (for which STP is just great) but the 
cylinder walls, valve seats, you name it.  When it came time to start 'er up, 
it would NOT start.  It was so determined not to start that I thought I had 
miffed something, was double-checking ignition wiring, cam timing, etc.  
After a serious amount of wear on the starter, the thing actually started to 
give the occasional "putt", and with a considerable amount more coaxing (and 
squirting fuel down the intake) it finally busted off, but wouldn't go above 
1000 RPM, even floored, for several seconds while it poured dense smoke out 
the exhaust.  It actually took a few minutes of running to totally clear up, 
by which time it was running just great.  That STP does NOT wash off easily!
