Matthias, $1,000 seems ok for a runner (I have been offered 3 in the past for 200, 300 and 2,000 pounds sterling, the 1st 2 had been standing a while, whilst the 3rd was from an engine replacement company). As to the question about weight..... Very heavy .... 4 of us thought that we would be able to offload one from the back of a truck, by sliding it down a ramp and using our weight to control it (our weight is estimated at 800Lbs combined). We started our tests by trying to slide the engine and very soon decided that there was no way we would have been able to control the weight of the engine on it's descent down the ramp. We found a local Tool-Hire place with an employee who looked like he may accept a bribe and hired an engine hoist for a day. As per the employees instructions we unloaded the engine and returned the hoist after under an hour exclaiming (loud enough for his workmates and manager to hear) that "It's not going to be up to the job of lifting the engine.... It's a big Jaguar V12 you see!... We decided not to use it in-case we broke it, and would like our money back please." All that was left to do was slip the employee in question some beer money and collect our hire money back. Martin Follow-Ups:
