I don't know how many owners bought their cars with the intention of
getting good mileage, but I have seen a lot of customers asking why the
fuel consumption is so high,esp in winter and city driving.

The objective being to sell enough cars to continue desiging and
marketing cars for many more years.

Perhaps this will be a new legend.

Actually my V8 Chevy doesn't accomodate it's supercharger between the
valve covers, it hangs off to the side.If you look at the Jag V8, you
can see how high the runners are near the center. that is the area I
meant.

Sure you could make it a seven litre, but it weighs over 800 lbs., the
V8 is about half that. The twelve is not a really clean running engine
and all manufacturers are concerned with meating CAFE standards for the
future.

I agree, but you were the one who brought up Mercedes and BMW having
twelves. Both of their designs are much newer,cleaner and more powerful
than Jag"s 12
