TH350 trannys, why?

The reason to replace a BW is not compelling if yours is working, you are
not towing, and you are not racing.

It becomes compelling when you find that the NEW tranny will cost $1200 to
$1600 and then installation is another $400.

The TH350 can be had for $300 and the kit and installation will add another
$1600.

OK, so its a wash on cost,..... but the next time you have to replace OR
rpair it, its cheap.

AND, now you can tow a trailer without fear.

AND, now it is just as smooth as the BW.

As to the strength of the BW, mine trashed itself at 55,0000 miles of very
normal street use.

As the strength of the TH350, twice in the past 70,000 miles the cooling
line has been severed and the transmission lost ALL of its fluid before I
coasted to the side. That would finish off most trannys, but on the TH350 I
mearly refilled it after replacing the broken line and away I went. I have
raced this tranny on a 2 mile road race track running at speeds of 120 mph,
up and down shifting by hand in the eses. I tow my Formula Atlantic race car
behind the Jag 150 miles to the track and race both of them then tow the
Lola back the next day..... in Texas where the summer temperature is over
100degrees.

I would not switch back for all the tea in China...... or all the scones in
England.
