It may not always be necessary to replace the windscreen. When I bought my SIII it had two chips. Not serious, but irritating and a posible MOT failure if they get picky. No problem I was told, we'll have that fixed. When I came to pick the car up, sure enough the chips were gone, but without replacing the screen! Some "magician" apparently travels the country and can fix windscreen chips. On some occasions, if the light is in a particular place, it is posible to see a slight smudge where the chips were but that's all. So far the fix as lasted nearly a year and 12,000 miles. I don't know what he name of the procedure is but I would thoroughly recommend it. Cosmo -- 83 XJ6 4.2L 65 Mustang 289 References:
