Hello > 1: Does anyone know of any brake calipers that will provide additional pad > area, but will fit (or can be made to fit) on to Mk II front uprights? XK's Unlimited offers a 4-pot brake kit for the MK2 I think. It's not cheap. > 2: I believe if you replace the uprights with 420 ones that one can fit the > 3 pot calipers from 420/Series II E type? Has anyone done this? Any advice > eg can I retain the Mk II stub axle and brake disc? I've done it. Details at http://www.best.com/~border/pages/jag (on the wire wheel conversion page) In short: 420 calipers will fit You'll need new front springs- if you rally this car, I'd suggest using cut down MK-10 springs like I did, S-type/420 springs will be too soft. Stub axle should fit (hubs are interchangeable) You'll need new brake rotors Take your front pistons and put them on the rear calipers to get a pretty well balanced system. Ryan Border
