[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] buying a daily driver
Message text written by john bertsche >(i.e., you have to remove the engine from it's mounts to change the last two spark plugs, etc. etc.)< Hooboy. The thing to ask anyone telling you a V12 horror story is: "have you ever owned one?". The answer is invariably no, as is the answer to your example (but you do need a universal joint and two different length extensions to your plug spanner). I have a '78 XJ12L and a '77 XJ12C, both used as daily drivers (the L less so now, as it's waiting to be sold to someone who doesn't believe the horror fiction about these marvellous engines). Between them, they have racked up some 80,000 km, now, and have never stranded me. If I can help it, I'll never drive anything but a Jag V12 (Ferraris and Lamborghinis being well beyond my means...). - Jan -Jan
