Mark Anderton asked how to reset his O2 sensor light on a SIII XJ6. I happened to have the same problem and the manuals were of no help. The local Jag dealer service manager was happy to show me that the switch is located behind the rear seat in the trunk. Take the panel down and you will find the ECU and other goodies. The reset button is a white button located on the far left black box. Use a small screw driver to push the button all the way in until it clicks. At least that is how mine is which is an '83 SIII. Apparently other years had some sort of knob to turn. I have a few strange problems that are probably easy for the veterans on the list. 1) When I changed the oil and tranny fluids and refilled according to the Hayes manual listed capacities I have found that they are both very over the mark on the dipsticks. I put in 8qts of oil in with filter change and the tranny only held about 2qts with a filter change. Am I overlooking something? 2) I started hearing a weird rattling sound that appeared to come from the rear deck area when driving. I can't find anything loose on the car and shaking it ect.. has no response. Last night while lubricating the door hinges I noticed that when the last door was shut lightly, even not latched, that the rattle would reliably happen. It appears to me that there might be some sort of vent to the trunk that lets the cockpit pressure when closing the doors activate the rattle. Is there some sort of one way checkball vent to the trunk for this? or am I on the wrong track. 3) I'm sure this is a dumb question, but where can I buy a stakedown kit & instructions? Thanks for the past and future help. Follow-Ups:
