Cruise Fixed!!! Thanks to all.

Regarding my inoperative cruise...

Sure enough, the vent solenoid was sticking open in the vacuum servo. A
little WD40 cured it. I went ahead and sealed the bellows for good measure.
:-)

One down, ten to go. At this rate the car will be perfect in about six
months (providing my fixes don't re-break). I think I'll go after the rear
window defroster next.

Thanks to all for the tips!

By the way, I have a problem with idle that my dealer said was a result of
the PO having the heads machined (un-equal cylinder compression?). Has
anyone had any experience with the Ultra Team ignition system from Jacobs
Electronics. They claim to cure (among a list of other things) erratic idle
while increasing mpg. Is this worth investigating?
