Is this worth investigating? If the PO had the head milled without cc'ing it, no ignition system will fix it. You might wanna check the compression, although I dunno if a standard compression gauge will show the difference in compression due to milling without cc'ing. If it ain't right, you need to pull the head and cc it properly. You might also worry about whether the camshaft bearings were properly aligned after a head warp. Ignition systems CAN improve both power and economy -- as well as idle smoothness -- by providing a better and more accurately timed spark.
