Among *many, many* problems was a leaking boot. The dealer had a number of attempts, but then Jaguar came up with a "fix". I believe this involved some sort of air intakes/outlets under the bumper. I thought at the time (remember, this was 9 years or so ago, so I can't remember exactly) that this was under the bumpers at the side, where they wrap around the body. There was some sort of Jaguar mod to fix the problem, but I'm not sure exactly what it entailed. Not much help, I know, but if you were to find a friendly dealer they might be able to tell you about the mod. Since that time, I've had an XJ6 sport, and now an XJR, and am happy to report that they have behaved much better than my XJ40! Hope this helps a little. Steve Dawson 96 XJR References:
