I don't know why there are so many concerns about speeding up the water pump. First, i have heard talk of the V12 running at 8000 rpm in racing versions without problems. Surely this means that the water pump is built with a pretty good safety margin and wont cavitate if we increase its sped by a small margin. It would be smart to find out what the racing versions did w.r.t. water pumping systems. Second, who ever runs their engine over 5000 rpm for any length of time anyway? Third, excess pressures: isn't this a funtion of flow rate and flow restrictions in the system? Surely unblocking the radiator (flow restrictions) will more than compensate for a ~20% increase in flow rate from a faster pump. Extra power for water pump? Who cares? Just disconnect the air pump :) I think that only a small increase in flow rate is needed. If we could figure the new pulley diameter to get say a 15 - 20 percent increase in flow rate at any given rpm. Julian Mullaney
