Kirby, the throttle pot on my 88, was making the car surge, so I picked up the book and read the fix, in an attempt to save $70. The book mentions cutting the metal strips that contact the variable resistor, shorten by a mm or two, and solder back up. My solution was must simpler. Just bend the metal strips in a zee, effectively shortening them, and hence contacting on a good portion of the resistor pad. Now works like new and cost nothing, except an hrs work. When you post the xjs manual on the web site, can you show what revision no on the main web page, and when it was released. Believe it or not, my V7 of word will not load your file. I went to the other site, where the book is stored in PDF format, but it was an old revision. We must have the technology to make this simpler? Dave Johnson Rocky Mountain Jag Club Two 88 Hess conv.
