[xj-s] Tires

I am in the need for a new set of tires. I was ready to purchase a set of
215/70VR-15 Pirelli P4000's, but after the advice of a few of the list
members I started searching the archives. There seems to be some discussion
against the Pirellis. Dunlops, Michelins, or BFGoodrich appear to be better
choices. With Dunlop DM40M2's being the preferred tire. Am I reading the
gist of these messages correctly? Also is there any consensus of 215/70
compared to 235/60 ?
