[xj-s] Now what the h........

I attached all the wires to the alternator and told my wife the job was
done. Now all I need to do is start it and make sure everything is right.

Wrong....Nothing is right!

The new alternator (rebuilt since it had no output) didnt change a thing.
There is still no output!

Now I am suspecting that the alternator problems were only part of the
problem.

Someone check me on the following wiring:

There is one small lead that goes to a screw stud on the back of the
alternator. This is the lead from the dash that excites the field winding.

There are two LARGE wires that go to male spade lug connectors on the back
of the alternator. These are both to the same point on the alternator.
One goes to the battery and I dont know where the other one goes.

Am I missing something? My schematic book shows just one large lead to the
alternator.
                                    Cheers, Jim
