[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] [xj-s] Non Starting
While trying to remedy the fuel tank vent problem I removed the main relay to de-presurize the system but after I finished the car will not start. The main relay (red socket) is hot/warm to the touch so I replaced both the main & pump relays but still warm/hot and no start. This is what I have: Voltage @ Inertia switch Batt Voltage @ term #86 main relay No Batt Voltage @ term #87 main relay No batt voltage @ earth lead & term #85 of main relay. Now the repair manual says that if the preceeding is "satisfactory" renew main relay. What is "satisfactory" voltage or no voltage? this relay is new as is the pump relay. No batt voltage @ term #86 of pump relay. No batt voltage @ term connector @ fuel pump. The injectors do not click when key is turned on. Fuel pump will run if direct wired. Any hints ? TIA.
