[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] Re[2]: [xj-s] Still Looking to buy
Steve Unfortunately I have a 750ukp a month double glazing loan to pay off! It finishes in December so I will then have some spare cash to spend on another project. The problem I have got is that my car could really do with a partial respray. There are traces of rust along the bottom of the wings and doors and a very unsightly patch just in front of the windscreen on both sides. I certainly would not buy it as it stands although I have seen many cars in far worse condition. It sounds worse than it actually is but if I am going to get a respray done I may as well keep the car for another year or two. The other nagging worry is that a late 6.0l is still at least 20,000ukp so there is a lot of depreciation left for someone to pick up. The depreciation on mine is a lot less and I have ironed out (hopefully) most of the faults now. If I could find one of the last XJR-S's at a sensible price I would be tempted as I think these will become sought after in years to come. I recently got picked up for speeding and will soon be the proud owner of 3 points on my licence. Having been banned once already I think if I bought a faster car I think I may also accumulate points faster. I too have an 89 5.3 XJ-S and 2 weeks ago purchased a 94 6.0 Convertible. Go and test drive a 6.0 litre when ever you can and I bet that you will not wait another year. O f course having the funds would help, it took me a while but now I wouldn't sell either of them. Regards Steve Abigail
