Happy Monday! I just wanted to relay a discovery not having to do with mechanical aspects of the car. While detailing the '90 XJS last weekend, I noticed a slight bit of rust around the metal panel that lies against the bottom sill. This is a plate that surrounds the metal lock striker and is held in by 2 screws. After removing this plate I found significantly more rust developing. Those of you who have never removed this panel may want to do so. Removal and replacement must take all of 5 minutes. Fixing the rust took a few hours because of drying times.
