I am interested in the relative fuel efficiency of the HE engine at diferent RPM, in particular, I am thinking about what effect differential ratio has on economy. In the absence of a means of getting hard data, could someone who has a car with a mileage computer do the following experiment for me? 1. Drive along a level road at 30 MPH in top gear, note the RPM and get a steady MPG reading. 2. Repeat measurement at 30 MPH in second gear. 3. If you enjoyed that, try it at other speeds. 4. Report back. (State year and version of engine). TIA, Mike
