I agree completely.  That is the method I used.  However, this particular
radiator shop charged me $75 for a rod out, and said they charge the dealer
$85.  I very much doubt that the dealer only marks it up 50%.

BTW, I bought a lower radiator hose at the dealer (I had trouble with an
aftermarket hose rubbing against a bolt head on the engine.  Obviously
working on a hole, so I wanted an original part.)  This particular dealer
gives you the parts and the invoices and has you take it over to the
cashier to pay.  I always take a quick glance at the bottom copy, which
lists their cost.  In the case of this hose, I paid $36.00, they paid
$16.50.  More than a 100% markup!
