Jim, There should be a silver sleeve that the hose crams into. The bolts on my pulley are half inch. Regards, Robert Woodling '84 XJ-S -----Original Message----- From: Jim Isbell [SMTP:jisbelljr@mail.utexas.edu] Sent: Friday, July 24, 1998 10:52 AM To: xj-s@jag-lovers.org Subject: [xj-s] Alternator finaly back in BUT.... Ok, I finaly got the damned thing back in and connected. BUT now I am putting the air pump back it. There are two connections to the air pump (hoses/pipes) and the fit is anything but exact. They seem to just sit there end to end. I cant seem to get the pump/hose to go over the end of the pipes. They have a captive washer on the end that doesnt seem to do anything. Also, does anyone have any idea what size the three bolt heads that hold on the pulley to the pump are? I have tried every wrench in the kit and none seem to fit. Cheers, Jim "Better an outlaw than not free."
