John, I don't remember lowering the filter mounting screw, however the trans is due for an oil change and when I drop the pan I will keep you posted. I think the oil pan from Whitney is just that, a deeper oil pan with a drain plug. The main advantage is the drain plug. Because the pan holds 3 more quarts (approx) the transmission oil should be slightly cooler. Moving the P/U / filter to the bottom of the pan gives the max benefit. I don't think the Whitney pan offers the additional stuff to lower the P/U. IMHO a transmission cooler is a MUST on the automatic cars. Regards Bernie >
