The point is, they could be any shape and size I could connect to 1-1/4" radiator hoses and fit under the hood. That last requirement is sorta restrictive on the XJ-S, I'll admit. My tentative plan has been the conical screen, as Napoli suggests, and I think I could even MAKE one if I can't find one. Some suitable screen material rolled into a conical shape and attached to the inside surface of a piece of copper tubing 1-1/4" in diameter should work, and the tubing might be really short -- only 2" long or so -- with the conical screen protruding into the hose itself. If this doesn't look like it'd provide enough flow capability, it'd always be possible to design something that looks like a can with two ports on it.
