I got an O ring in with the gasket set I bought for my rebuid. No idea whether it was Viton or nitrile though. Many of you (most, I hope) have had your distributor off and apart. You will have noted that the O-ring that seals the base of the distributor to the top of the engine was hard and hadn't been sealing for a while. The O-ring is 1/8" thick and 1-1/2" ID, what O-ring folks call a .222. Since I'm about to yank my distributor for the second time, I decided to place an order for a Viton O-ring for this position. Hopefully, the flourocarbon material will provide a reliable seal. Unfortunately, the supplier has required me to buy three of these O-rings -- at $3.20 each -- in order to meet an order minimum. I don't think this size is used anywhere else, so I'm gonna be left with two O-rings laying around. Anybody wanna make offers? -- Kirbert | If anything is to be accomplished, | some rules must be broken. | - Palm's Postulate
