This is in the section "Electric >Window Problems". Good choice. I did the same. The orig switches are true POS. Garbage inside when I took them apart. Windows always stuck down of course. >I called around a few electrical/electronic places and >got no help. I did the same (entire Seattle area). Why does it say you can find these at any good Electronics store? >Therefore can anyone tell me who makes these switches, i.e. >what does GC stand for, I was told it is "General Connector" which doesn't mean much. It does not say anything but "GC" on the package. >and where can I buy these switches. I got three switches( factory conv sw also) by ordering them from Active Electronics in Bellevue, WA, ph # (425) 881-8191. I believe Active is Nationwide so there might be a local store near you. They are not normally mail order, but I had them shipped to my door for about $40 including tax and shipping (on my credit card). Took about a week. They work great (about 2-3 hours install time), I like the light on the switch and IHHO they look good. They don't quite fit as described - some filing to make them fit, but no big deal. > >Dave Johnson >Two 1988 Hess Conv (His and Hers) Mike 1989MY XJ-S V12
