Yes the John's car bracket is to expensive for what you get. Also yes, it fits and works very well. I would suggest that you be sure the GM alternator has the optional heavy duty heat sinks available, for the diodes. The Jag engine compartment gets a lot hotter than most GM vehicles. I have a special built 100 amp alternator with the heavy duty heat sinks and it has worked well through 3 artizona summers. Cost was about $100. Michael '84 XJ-S Follow-Ups:
