There is a tensioning bolt that connects to the _bottom_ of the
alternator.  It should be barely visible from above, but the only way to
"easily" access it is to crawl under the car.  Even then, you might have
to turn it by feel, since there isn't a whole lot of room under there. 
You will save a lot of time if you look for the bolt that holds the block
that the tensioning bolt goes through and which holds it to the engine. 
Removing that bolt will release the tension and remove the tensioning
assembly from its connection to the engine at the same time.  This will
allow you to remove the alternator with the tensioning assembly still on
it.  That makes it easier to attach it to the new alternator and to set
up the tension close to the original so that you don't have to run a nut
so far on the tensioning bolt.

I hope all this makes sense.  If it doesn't after you have looked at the
car, email me back and I will try to be more clear.
