[xj-s] Mysterious metal squeaking noise

I can't seem to figure out what is causing the front end to squeak on the 1993
XJ40.  The noise occurs after the car is driven for 30+ minutes.  It is
relatively constant - short squeaky metal rubbing against metal noises, which
occur at all speeds.  I beleive that when I apply the brakes, the noise still
occurs - but I could be wrong.  The only new work in the front is new brakes pads
and rotors two weeks ago.  Any ideas before I send it to the mechanic.
