 My series 1 (1973) is used ever day and I have managed to put on 33300
kms in 18 months. There is nothing inherently wrong with a S1 as long as
one is prepared for the maintaince (3000 mile oil\filter changes) and
attending to things when they start to go wrong....

My S1 has only broken down three times....
1 - Bottom rad hose fell off
2- wire fell off the coil
3- wire fell off the fuel pump

Find a good series 1 and it will be a very enjoyabel car..
