[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] E Type Fuel Tank/Oil Mods
Classification: Prologue: ISSC - Technical Planning Epilogue: Phone 433-2540, Fax 432-9102 I figured I throw my two cents in on some non-origional, but also non-distructive mods I've done on my E that others may find useful... Fuel: I inserted at clear plastic fuel filter in the fuel line between the fuel tank and fuel pump in my 67 E type. It will keep any crud out of your fuel pump and let you know if you have any crud to begin with. Easier than draining the sump to see... Oil: Supplemented the electric oil pressure gauge/switch, with a mechanical oil pressure gauge. Did this by removing the oil pressure switch, inserting an 18" piece of 3000psi high pressure grease gun hose(resistant to petroleum products) into a brass "T", into which I screwed both the mechanical gauge and electric sending unit. In case my electric gauge ever gives me suspect readings, I can go to the ever faithful mechanical gauge. Both of these ideas are non-distructive, give me peace of mind and are a lot cheaper than flat bedding the car home! Todd '67 E Roadster
