[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] old problem and XJS Rear Brakes
Well I'll start off with a trip to the dealer for a non start problem. We had been having this problem where the Jag would stumble at speed after a warm up period and stopping for any length of time. If left to sit for a few minutes it would run fine. The first symptom that it was going to mis behave was a sudden deceleration when letting up on the gas pedal just a little bit . I changed the fuel filter, cleaned out the sump, checked the fuel pump, checked for faulty wiring at the distributor and ignition amplifiers. Then I found a broken vacuum line between the fuel pressure switch and the fuel pressure regulator. Problem fixed, so I thought. one month of no problems and it does it again except this time it won't start. Took it to the dealer and they think it's the crank speed sensor, they didn't have one in stock so the next day they try to start it before replacing the crank speed sensor and it runs fine. So I thought while it is there I'll have them fix the air conditioner and the oil leaks and the dripping heater control valve. $3800. No leaks and good air but I don't know if it is going to act up again. I feel like spending more money so does anyone know what parts and part numbers are involved for converting the rear brakes to vented rotors? Kevin Sisterson stablemates@msn.com Follow-Ups:
