[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] Rough Idle
I've been following the rough idle issue with interest. My 85 S3 4.2 idles fine when cold but will interminttently idle rough when hot. I had problems passing emissions test (high CO) and was told by my dealer that "it could be those Bosch plugs." I changed the plugs to Champion and gapped to .035. Sure enough my CO went down from 2.5 to .89. Coincidence? But the rough idle remains. Fuel economy is around 19 mpg on the highway. I've changed the plug wires and distributor cap with no luck. Could this be a heat related electrical problem in the injection system? Mark Revels 85 XJ6
