If the pressure did not change over a long period of time, then you "might" not have a leaky system. However, the molecular cross section of freon is not the same as air (or more properly its constituents) and won't leak the same. I have a lot of experience in helium systems where they will leak helium like mad but keep air forever. More importantly, however, if you have a leaky system, you could never detect it when filled with air. On air con systems, we use a halogen detector to pinpoint the leaky joint or part as this detector sniffs for leaking halogens and can detect even very minor leaks which is usually the type that an air con system suffers from.
