[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] BMW to Mark II
Subject: Time: 9:20 AM OFFICE MEMO BMW to Mark II Date: 2/21/97 I will be putting my 1973 BMW Bavaria (4 spd, sunroof, electric windows, factory alloys, black, tan pigskin interior, pristine), on the barge from Juneau to Seattle on 2/24 so it can go to it's new owner. This winter I redid the disc braskes, installed a new exhaust, installed a 3.07 limited slip differential, and replaced the oil pump. I put it on insurance this morning and drove it to work today (the weather is mild here right now)... and I just love this car. It is a wonderful piece of contemporary engineering in a beautifully designed package. But I am also now the owner of a very nice 1962 Jaguar Mark II (3.8, 4 spd OD, CWW, restored carmine red body, new BAS biscuit interior). This car is in Victoria BC, and next week I go to retrieve it. I have to say I'm pretty fired up about the Jaguar. But after driving the Bavaria again today, I also know I've made a purely emotional move here. But I want to have owned a Jaguar Mark II in my life, and I have this rosey belief that it won't eat me out of house and home. I suppose this is nothing new to many of you out there.
